What are the main types?

1. White tie and Black tie. Two fairly strict dress codes. Floor-length dresses, exquisite jewelry and tuxedos on men. Black tie is not so strict, so women can wear more revealing dresses, and men can wear a formal suit.

2. Cocktail attire.

For women, boiler dresses or suits, and for men, a suit.
